Volunteers Needed to Carry Lilies on Easter Morning: We are looking for women and children to help carry lilies down the aisle during the procession of the cross on Easter Sunday at the beginning of the service. Anyone interested in helping should contact Megan Kenyon in the church office at hclcstl@gmail.com by March 31st.
Meal Train for the Haase Family Ragnar Johanesen (RJ) Haase was born to Kasper and AJ Haase on February 11th! Let's nourish this family with loving meals as they continue to settle into life with a new baby. You can bring frozen meals to church for Amie and Jim Cox to deliver to the Haase household. Easter Brunch Sign Up: We are once again doing a potluck brunch for Easter morning! If you plan to bring a dish, please let Megan Kenyon know what you plan to bring so the church can fill in any gaps in the menu for that morning. Email Megan at hclcstl@gmail.com by or before March 29, 2026 (Palm Sunday).
New road construction on Jefferson Ave. south of 1-44 to Gravois. It is likely to delay your journey to church on a Wednesday night for a midweek service, and perhaps also on a Sunday morning. You may want to plan an alternate route until construction is completed. (2.26.26)
Intersect is in need of kitchen towels and dish cloths! Donations can be dropped off at Intersect during normal office hours. (2.26.26)
Easter Egg Hunt Donations Holy Cross is collecting donations for the annual Holy Cross Easter Egg Hunt. There are plenty of plastic eggs so please donate small toys or individually wrapped candies for the eggs. Donations will be collected through March 29th. The donation bins can be found at each entrance to the church. (2.26.26)
Easter Flowers: It’s time to order altar flowers for Easter. Flowers are $10 each. You may order your flowers at www.holycrossstl.org/flowers or email the church office at hclcstl@gmail.com. Deadline to order is Palm Sunday, March 29.
Sunday School Volunteers Needed In efforts to care for and love the children of Holy Cross well, we are adopting a new Child Protection Policy which will have us move to two adults per classroom for Sunday School. We need members to volunteer to be these helpers! If you are willing and able to help out on Sunday mornings (9:15-10:15 in the Bridge House), please email the church office! (2.19.26)

Snow Days and Church Cancellations: It’s that time of year again where snowfall or ice can make getting into Holy Cross difficult. If the weather looks bad enough that we will have to cancel church, we will send out an email to everyone on the emailer list to let you know church has been cancelled, and we will also try to update our social media to hopefully catch everyone. If you are signed up for the weekly emailer but haven’t been getting it recently, check your spam folder as it may be in there. The Blessings Box There were 113 items claimed by the community from the blessing box last week! The blessing box is looking to collect the following items: tissues, fruit cups/canned fruit, canned vegetables, cereal, jelly, peanut butter, oatmeal, pasta sauce, deodorant, dish soap, sponges, shampoo/conditioner, canned meat, pancake mix and syrup, tampons, and water bottles. NEW DATES for Spring Clean at Concordia Cemetery: Join the efforts to “Spring Clean” our cemetery this second week of March. We will focus on clearing the winter debris from the grounds so that the mowing crew can begin. Volunteers will be led by Board Members, who thank you in advance for your help! We will be working on Thursday morning, March 12, and Saturday morning, March 14, from 9am - noon. Lunch will be provided. All ability levels are welcome. We will match your interest and ability to the various tasks available. Bring your own equipment or use some from the cemetery. We have found rakes, chain saws, and snow shovels (think big dustpan!) to be very helpful. If the weather is iffy, please consult the website’s home page for the latest plan, www.ConcordiaCemeteryStLouis.com. Message us through the website with any questions, or call 314-481-8396.
Choir Practices: The choir is singing on Palm Sunday, and will have rehearsals on the Sundays of March 15 and March 22 after church.
Midweek Lent Service : Wednesday, March 18. Service is at 5:30pm with dinner following. We’ll be having The Vine, so feel free to bring a side dish or dessert to share!
Family Discipleship will meet on Thursday, March 19th from 5:30-7:30 at church. Please RSVP to Allison Schrader (schradera21@gmail.com) by February 15th so we have a count for food and childcare!
Women's Bible Study beginning Tuesday, March 24: Sara Maichel has graciously opened her home for a six-week daytime women's bible study. Renee Gibbs will lead us through the book of Philippians as we wait in "joyful hope." Please join us for this small group time of study and prayer. Egg Class: Ukrainian Egg Dyeing (Psyanky) with Katherine Gastler is happening at Intersect on Saturday, March 28 from 1-4pm. First time or beginner participants will make at least two guided eggs while returning or advanced participants can work more independently. Chai V' Shalom’s annual Passover Seder is on Palm Sunday, March 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Brentwood. The Passover Seder is a traditional Jewish dinner that remembers and retells the story of the Passover and the Exodus from Egypt. The unique version that is conducted by Chai V' Shalom also shows how the Passover and Exodus point us to Christ. The event includes dinner. Reservations are required. Easter Egg Hunt Help We will meet in the church basement at 4 pm on Good Friday, April 3rd to stuff the eggs.
Holy Week Feast services will happen on April 2 (Maundy Thursday), April 3, (Good Friday), and April 5 (Easter Sunday). The Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services will both be at 5:30pm. Easter Sunday we will have brunch at 9:15am, Divine Service at 10:30am, and an easter egg hunt for the kids following the service in the gardens (weather permitting).
You are invited to the senior art show for Olivia Fields! The show opens on Saturday, April 11th from 5-7PM, and is held at Fifteen Windows Gallery at 3115 Cherokee Street, only a 5 minute drive away from Holy Cross!

Early Spring is always a busy time for the Arboretum and Gardens at Holy Cross, but March, 2026 is an even busier month since Palm Sunday is March 29th and Holy Week follows with Easter on April 5th.
We have designated every Saturday in March a workday for volunteers to come and get the gardens looking ready for visitors and Easter egg hunters. Please consider helping even if for only an hour or two.
We are very grateful for volunteers. Thank you for supporting the Arboretum and Gardens at Holy Cross and all the ways we reach out to our neighbors and show them the love of Christ.

March 7th workday 9am - noon (call Jeff Gibbs if you have questions: Cleaning out gardens, working on tree rings, mulching, hard raking grassy areas. Please bring the following if you have them: your own garden gloves, small hand rake to gently take gum balls and leaf matter off of azalea beds, hard rakes for the lawn.. Remember no foot traffic in woodland gardens (Azalea beds), buds are everywhere and if they are stepped on they probably will not come back this season and maybe not again. Early woodland plants are extremely delicate. Stay on sidewalks and stone paths, always.

CURRENT EXHIBITION Interstitium is open to the public, and you can come see the show during Intersect's regular office hours, Tuesday-Saturday 11am-5pm! Learn more about Interstitium here. The exhibition runs through March 22nd.
CLASSES AT INTERSECT! There are a number of exciting classes available at Intersect! There's a variety of ceramics classes, among some other fun options! Cabinets of Curiosity Opening: Hosted by and located at Intersect, featuring work by Duygu Ozoplat, a ceramic artist and microbiologist at Wash U. Happening Friday, March 20 from 6-8pm, you can see her work in the cabinets in our lobby, as well as Interstitium in our gallery, enjoy some refreshments, and at 7pm hear from the artist herself about her practice. It’s free to come and all are welcome to join!
